The Only Way

And I just felt these characters who I don't have rights to would fit so nicely in this comic.

 A favorite annoyance in superhero movies is when the main character says "it's the only way!" when it's really not the only way, it's just the most convenient way for the plot. I'm remembering a cartoon clip where something bad is coming to Earth and Superman offers to move Earth out of the way to which Batman replies something like "I don't have time to list all the reasons why that's a terrible idea."

Super Babies

 

A wild Oriole appears! I believe this is another one that I wrote for Robin but it hung out in my to-be-drawn folder for long enough to be applicable to Ori rather than her. I imagine this is a group of moms meeting up after getting their babies from Sunday morning nursery.

Auntie Hero

I thought this up after hearing that song by Taylor Swift. An antihero is an interesting concept. I'm not sure I'd watch a movie about one. I prefer the actual hero who does the right thing even when it's hard. To quote my favorite Avenger:
“Doesn't matter what the press says. Doesn't matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right.
This nation was founded on one principle above all else: The requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. Explanation: "Anti" sounds like how some people say "Auntie" which is the diminutive for "Aunt" i.e. your parent's sister (or sister-in-law).

Flash Mob

I was watching CW's The Flash when it was airing (it wrapped up the last season early and who knows when the next season will drop) and thought up this one. The Flash is a super-speedster, meaning his superpower is that he can move fast, and he wears a red suit with a lightning bolt on the chest. A flash mob, per Wikipedia, is "a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform for a brief time, then quickly disperse, often for the purposes of entertainment, satire, and artistic expression."

B: The streets are packed with people dressed in red with yellow bolts on their shirts!
A: Ah, a Flash mob. 

Nobody Likes Excess

There's a TV show on CW called The Flash, and the main character (Flash) has a daughter (XS) whose superhero name is pronounced "excess." I tried drawing a frown on Flash to show his anger (even though I don't usually add facial features) but sadly my computer has been having this issue where it has a 'sharing violation' and won't save my edited comic. It's annoying and I'm gonna solve it eventually but currently we're dealing with taxes and family vacation planning and the Awana Grand Prix!!!

Harley Quinn, Medicine Woman

I was at my in-laws and they were trying to think of the name of that old western TV show about the doctor and it was incorrectly stated and that inspired this comic. The comic book character is actually a doctor, a psychologist I believe, but she turned to a life of crime rather than using her doctoral talent. And the star of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, was Jane Seymour who is an interesting person - she designed the "Open Heart Collection" for Kay Jewelers, has starred in a lot of things, has heterochromia (her eyes are different colors), and her birth name is Joyce Penelope Wilhelmina Frankenberg.

Bane of My Existence

Superhero time! I'm not a fan of Batman because he's quite violent and the movies are physically dark, like hard to see. And it's all sad. I prefer Marvel, since they tend to be lighter movies, both in theme and in lighting. They still totally have sad parts but not as much as DC. However with superhero shows, DC's The Flash on the CW is a very light-hearted show and I usually like watching it.

Aquaman

Yes, this is my take on the Superman poster "You will believe a man can fly."
Honestly I liked the Aquaman movie. It has funny parts, likable characters, and a decent plot (but not very original). It does have some very scary parts so definitely not a kid movie, but it is PG-13 so that makes sense (though I am always surprised at the number of children I see in PG-13 movie showings).

Possible Ghost Sighting

I think this is an EXCELLENT costume. Also I feel like this comic might need a border, or maybe some fill for the cape and sheet. But it should be a white sheet to complete the look, so then it needs a background color instead and that is just too much work after the fact, since there's text.
I was up in CT a few weeks ago and learned about some PJ show that my nieces like and when I see a superhero I now think "night time is the best time to fight crime!"
The costume could also be a person struggling to fold a fitted sheet - that's a good idea as well. Just trying to help those who are trying to come up with an awesome easy costume.

Aquaman and Manatees

Haha, manatees are kinda useless. I'm sure someone can think up a scenario where Aquaman needs to control them but I am not that creative currently. My husband has a story about manatees and that's why he thinks they're disgusting and gross.
I looked up the plural of manatee for this comic and both manatee and manatees are proper.
