Harley Quinn, Medicine Woman

I was at my in-laws and they were trying to think of the name of that old western TV show about the doctor and it was incorrectly stated and that inspired this comic. The comic book character is actually a doctor, a psychologist I believe, but she turned to a life of crime rather than using her doctoral talent. And the star of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, was Jane Seymour who is an interesting person - she designed the "Open Heart Collection" for Kay Jewelers, has starred in a lot of things, has heterochromia (her eyes are different colors), and her birth name is Joyce Penelope Wilhelmina Frankenberg.

Rubber Necking Geeks

A crash dump happens when something has gone wrong in your program or on your server or really just an error happened and it's trying to tell you where it happened and sometimes even why. A car crash is much clearer usually but there is still the reconstructing what happened and who is at fault and all that.

Text:
A: I was looking into the crash dump on prod -
B: Stop rubber necking!

Hair Styling and Bakery

I realize this one might benefit from a frame around it, since the top sign is kinda just hanging there but I think it works.
I don't remember what made me think of this but I think Princess Leia would approve? My hair is far too short for buns but I do like cinnamon buns. Also sticky pastries and clipping hair would just be gross.

M: It seemed like a good idea but it's not.

Ally and Hailey

Something's fishy about this one.... :) :) :) I might have made it up after seeing Aquaman. Are there any acceptable fish names for children? I can't think of any. I mean, Orca would be a cool name but I can't think of anyone with it and also that's a whale not a fish.

Text:
P: Here are my kids, Ally and Hailey.
R: Nice.
A: Our full names are Albacore and Halibut.

Connie

So I was wondering which name was shortened to get Connie and I looked it up but then forgot again. Oh, it's Constance. Apparently it could be for Cornelius as well, which is cool and definitely better than shortening to Corny. And maybe be cautious before asking a short person what their full name is. Make sure you phrase it correctly.

Text:
A: What's Connie short for?
B: O. MY. WORD. You can't just ask people why they are short!
C: *angry*

Euroclydon

I feel like it'd be a good name for a feisty pet. Do you know what the Euroclydon is? I learned about it from the Bible but apparently per Wikipedia it's mentioned in Moby Dick as well. And Rudyard Kipling referenced it too! Such a literary name. I was thinking *that* character from BBC's Sherlock was named after this but actually her name is Eurus which is the Greek god of the east wind but I'm thinking the names are related. Oh they are, the storm is derived from the Greek east wind and north wind.

Text:
A: My son Euroclydon is being such a problem.
B: You brought this on yourself with that name.

Valentine's Day Chocolate

Happy Valentine's Day! Take time to think of those you care about today, and call them or spend time with them if you can.
This is my take on a kinda famous quote (the famous one is anonymous I believe and has the chocolate and love switched). I do really like chocolate, specifically dark chocolate. But I love the love of my life more. But he gives me chocolate, so it's like a win-win.
I thought this up while eating a bar of minty chocolate at work - it's a vegan one so there's no dairy which is awesome for those of us who can't handle it.

Text:
M: Forget chocolate, I'd rather fall in love!
L: How could you forget chocolate? It's amazing.

Violet and Green

Why are some colors fine to use as names, but not others? As for 'acceptable' colorful names, I think Sapphira is a beautiful name but sadly has that connotation with lying and death from Acts. Well now I might do a gemstone version of this because some stones are fine but others are not.

Overture

I thought this up when we did a double-date to see Anastasia - it was a great show. We plan on seeing Aladdin when it's in theatre this summer. I like musicals, specifically Disney-style ones. The wardrobe is always so intricate and the sets are fantastic and the music is beautiful. We have the Kennedy Center near us, and they put on some great performances. There's also Wolf Trap, but we have only seen music performances there rather than plays.

Text:
M: The first song listed is Overture - why do all musicals start with the same song?
L: **facepalm**

Bane of My Existence

Superhero time! I'm not a fan of Batman because he's quite violent and the movies are physically dark, like hard to see. And it's all sad. I prefer Marvel, since they tend to be lighter movies, both in theme and in lighting. They still totally have sad parts but not as much as DC. However with superhero shows, DC's The Flash on the CW is a very light-hearted show and I usually like watching it.

B: You are the Bane of my existence!
B: lol, so original.

Using a Crutch

I have never used crutches but I probably should have with some of my leg injuries. I have used a wrist brace after I broke my arm in high school (sledding). Being braced is annoying but necessary when injured.

A: He's using that medical device as a crutch!
B: Yes, that's what it is though.

First Time Husband

I tried this one with typing because it was looking very crammed when I wrote it.
We had a pastor give this illustration when talking about hiring a pastor who had not pastored another church before.

A: Do you have any misgivings about Barry?
B: Well, he's never been a husband before so I'm not sure I want him to marry my daughter.
