My Romantic Chemicals

Above, the generic comic. Below, the one that came to mind after remembering that Batman, in The Batman, listens to My Chemical Romance

So this comic was inspired when I saw "MRC" graffitied on a dump truck. Those happen to be the initials of at least two of my family members, so there's that too. In the movie mentioned above, there is a scene where MCR is playing loudly and when something happens to shift the focus, Batman turns down his music and you realize it wasn't just movie magic music, he really was blasting music in his cave. I liked that detail. Also I totally think a young sidekick/partner would refer to music from two decades ago as oldies. Wow, 2001 was when MCR started and that was two decades ago. Bleh.

Explanation: the band is "My Chemical Romance" and usually abbreviated MCR. The young person flips the words to be "My Romantic Chemicals" which seems like a different sort of band.

R: Holy Oldies, Batman! It's that band you like - My Romantic Chemicals!
B: *facepalm*

Sticking to your Batarangs

Sometimes you have to adapt sayings

This was inspired by the phrase "sticking to your guns" and the knowledge that Batman doesn't like guns. Robin is on my mind because we nicknamed our daughter Robin before she was born to keep the gender and name a surprise. Batgirl shows up in this comic because when Lucy was born, we all got wristbands with 'BG-Conrad" on them and I was wondering why they were calling her Batgirl when clearly she was a Robin but then I realized it was 'baby girl.'
Happy almost-Birthday to my Niece!

Text:
Robin: Did you get Batman to change his mind on the issue?
Batgirl: Nope, he's sticking to his batarangs on this.

Batman vs Octopus-man

Those who received a comic book from me this year have already seen this one! But for those who follow this blog, this is your first time seeing it! How about I just look up the blurb I used for it in my book....
If that guy follows Batman's naming scheme, he'd be Octopus-man. Maybe he'd have the ability to blend in and fit through tiny spaces and also extreme intelligence.
But Batman doesn't actually have any bat abilities - no echolocation, not actual flight, and he doesn't (to my knowledge) eat bugs. He does eat fruit, and some bats also eat fruit, but also humans eat fruit so that's not a defining characteristic.

R: Who are you?!?
B: Your worst nightmare.
R: But you don't look like an octopus. So who are you?!?
B: My worst nightmare.
R: ...maybe you need therapy?

Your Worst Nightmare

I was on Pinterest and I saw a Robin comic that I thought was funny so I saved it to my Happy Thoughts board and that's why I wrote a week of Batman&Robin comics.
I kinda thought this up also thinking of the part at the end of Mulan when Mushu scares the guys manning the fireworks by saying he's their worst nightmare and wearing a cape like Batman (and Cri-Kee was Robin).

Text:
T: Who are you?
B: Your worst nightmare.
T: True, I have always feared bats.
R: Holy coincidence, so did he!

Robin Eggs Candy

I was on Pinterest and I saw a Robin comic that I thought was funny so I saved it to my Happy Thoughts board. Then I thought up some of my own.
So Robin Eggs (as previously mentioned) are my favorite candy and I think it's just fitting for Robin to like them, too.

Text:
R: THESE ARE MY FAVORITE EASTER CANDY!!!
B: As long as you're not laying them.
A: Perhaps we should limit his sugar intake, Master Bruce.

Robin in Connecticut

Again, I was on Pinterest and I saw a Robin comic that I thought was funny so I saved it to my Happy Thoughts board and this inspired a week of comics. Robins are the state bird of Connecticut and therefore are protected there and you aren't allowed to kill them, even if one is attacking your truck's side mirror and crapping all over the side of your truck for several days before mysteriously disappearing. Praying Mantises are the state bird of CT and you aren't allowed to kill them, which is why we were not allowed to play on our play set as kids for like a week when a pod hatched next to the play set and the little baby mantises were covering our swings and slide.

B: Why did you leave Gotham and move to CT?!
R: Holy Protected Species, Batman.

Holy Moley

I was on Pinterest and I saw a Robin comic that I thought was funny so I saved it to my Happy Thoughts board which is just like it sounds, a board of things that make me happy. But now Pinterest thinks I like Batman which is incorrect, I just liked this one funny comic. But since I saw that comic I started seeing more Robin comics and then I thought up a few of my own. This one has probably been done before but it's a classic take on the classic Robin line, "Holy *noun*, Batman" which he used in the corny/classic Batman & Robin show I watched as a kid.

Text:
B: What critter could have dug these holes?
R: Holy Moley, Batman!

Bane of My Existence

Superhero time! I'm not a fan of Batman because he's quite violent and the movies are physically dark, like hard to see. And it's all sad. I prefer Marvel, since they tend to be lighter movies, both in theme and in lighting. They still totally have sad parts but not as much as DC. However with superhero shows, DC's The Flash on the CW is a very light-hearted show and I usually like watching it.

B: You are the Bane of my existence!
B: lol, so original.
