Chocolate Coins

My kids received chocolate coins for Christmas and they have actual currency emblems on them. Some confusion happened. But the coins are tasty.

Explanation: The emblem of a country can be called a seal. Some emblems have birds on them, like eagles. A seal is also an aquatic mammal. So a seal can be a bird but the other seal can not be a bird.

L: Well, is it an eagle or a seal? Those are different animals. 
M: *unimpressed*
R: *confused*

Learning to Count

 

Happy belated Birthday to my dad-in-law! Also Happy Birthday to my sister-in-law and nephew. Quite the festive weekend.
So my toddler doesn't quite have his numbers straight. Is it considered stealing candy from babies when you give them a choice and they choose the lesser? I could choose to make this an educational lesson, or I could choose to eat the extra chocolate chip. It's a hard choice.

O: TWO!

Grilled Candy

My church had an ice cream fellowship a few weeks ago, and there were boxes of leftover ice cream cones because it was an indoor event and everyone used bowls because cones are for outside with all the dripping and messiness. So we have several boxes of cones and were looking up uses for them since we don't go on ice cream walks anymore with the weather and such. Apparently you can make grilled smores using a waffle cone and stuffing it with marshmallows and chocolate and candies like M&M's. It's super tasty and a great use for waffle ice cream cones when you don't just want to fill them with ice cream. Apparently you can also crumble them and use them for pie crust (think like graham cracker crust but it's ice cream cone). We haven't tried that one yet, but we might.

Hot as Chocolate

So I have a sibling who loves to order frozen hot chocolates all year round, and I get why they call it a frozen hot chocolate because "cold chocolate" sounds like you're just drinking from a chocolate fountain or something. Also, I wrote this comic back when we were in a super bad heat wave and it was in the 90's every day and my daughter would signal that she wanted to go outside and I would say NOPE not gonna melt out there today. She wanted to go on the swing set but all the pieces were too hot to touch :(  But it's better now! At least at time of writing, and I hope it stays nice like it is because LOOK OUT it's nearly September which is the best month.

Valentine's Day Chocolate

Happy Valentine's Day! Take time to think of those you care about today, and call them or spend time with them if you can.
This is my take on a kinda famous quote (the famous one is anonymous I believe and has the chocolate and love switched). I do really like chocolate, specifically dark chocolate. But I love the love of my life more. But he gives me chocolate, so it's like a win-win.
I thought this up while eating a bar of minty chocolate at work - it's a vegan one so there's no dairy which is awesome for those of us who can't handle it.
