Mr. Shark Time

 

So many variations of this game exist. I've heard it called Mr. Wolf or Mr. Fox as well. The name of the game is "What's the time, Mr. <insert animal>?" and play is simple (it shows up in at least one Bluey episode, "Shadowlands" and a Danny Go episode about Summer Time). One player has their back turned to everyone, everyone asks the question, the player gives a time, and everyone takes that many steps towards the player. At some point, the player answers "Dinner time!" and then it becomes a game of tag. 

Explanation: 24hr time is like 12hr time except it keeps counting up after noon, instead of resetting at one. Therefore twenty o'clock would be (20-12) 8pm.

O: Twenty o'clock!
L: That's known as 8pm by many. 

Time Mismanagement

 

Such a struggle, being busy after lollygagging. I should complete my tasks before gagging on the lollies, but alas that is not how the story goes.

Time Not Well Spent

 

Happy belated Birthdays to my niece and nephew!
I feel this is in line with a comic I posted back in July about a lack of dedication. Did this one spawn after one too many times of lollygagging for a bit then when I sit down to actually do something then the children are no longer placid and totally need my attention to be on them instead of whatever I just started working on? Who can say.

DST Reparations

 

Honestly, I would just like the time change to end. I'm trying to think how a state could give individuals their sleep back and I'm not coming up with anything. Let's just call it done and quit changing the clocks. I don't care if we stay in DST or Standard Time, just call it quits whenever we can get the votes to do so.

A: DST has happened around 60 times, so we should get 60 hours of sleep in reparations.
B: But doesn't Standard Time negate it?
A: Nope, double it! 120!
B: Sure, shoot your shot. 

Take It All Back

The song being quoted is "Take It All Back" sung by Tauren Wells, We the Kingdom, and Davies. This song was going through my head as we had to Spring Ahead yet again. Can the time changing please end.

Toddler Time

 

I mean, it's all just numbers to a toddler. Saying something happens at two o'clock is meaningless, but saying it's a little bit after lunch means she'll demand it when she takes her last bite of sandwich and that's still a problem, just a different one. Maybe it's like software development, when you eliminate an error message so you celebrate - ignoring that a different error is now showing, that's irrelevant.

R: Forty-eight!
L: Excellent guess, but it's 2:51pm. 

End of Month

 

WHAT?!? 

The thing with getting ahead and scheduling posts is that you're only as ahead as you've scheduled, and that lead time is constantly shrinking. How obnoxious.

L: No worries, I have comics scheduled through the end of the month.
M: But it is the end of the month.
L: WHAT!?

Timing of Things

I wasn't sure what to title this one. It happened on our trip out to Nebraska (this is another one broken out from my Nebraska travel comic pages) and I feel like it will happen again. Any time you are waiting with a small, unhappy child, it's like there's a time dilation. So annoying. 

Math: In reality, I had asked Mark how much longer and he said 45min, then 15min later I asked again and he said 30min which checks out, but I felt like those 15min were an hour long. Because a crying baby creates a time vortex or something. No fun is being had, so no time is flying by.

L: I feel like you said forty-five minutes an hour ago.

No Time Likes the Present

 

Should the present be happy about this?

He's kinda cute with his enthusiasm. 

Is this another Throw Back Thursday with a sketched comic? Why yes it is! Will there be more? That (like that joke about glass coffins) remains to be seen. 

There is something rather therapeutic about sketching on paper that just doesn't carry over to digital drawing, at least for me. Back in the day when I started doing comics (about a decade ago), I would pencil them in on paper, then ink them, then either scan them in or take a picture of them, then crop and edit, then we were good to go! It's a lot of steps and with these ones I just did the penciling then snapped a picture, edited (added my url), and called it good. Maybe I'll digitalize it eventually, who knows. I do like the longer process, but it takes time that I don't really have currently since I have a small child. 

I thought this one up while waiting in line for my Sunday morning pastries at Roggenart. They now have two locations but we are sticking to the usual one because it's close to the park in which we like to eat our pastries. It's a great way to start your Sunday. I don't remember why the phrase "no time like the present" was used, but I slightly misheard it and that's how this comic happened.

The Ploszaj Way

It's the way I grew up :) I thought this comic up one of the times I was visiting home and there was some chaos. My mom makes amazing food and sometimes it takes longer that expected (except we now expect it so it's a paradox) so we don't leave the house in a timely manner.
